LifeSync Robotics, a Singapore-based pioneer in autonomous surgical robotics, is proud to announce its acceptance into co11ab Novena, Singapore’s first biomedical technology incubator embedded within the city’s healthcare precinct. This partnership marks a transformative milestone in our mission to redefine surgical precision and accessibility across ASEAN and beyond through our flagship Asclepius™ Robotic System.
Advancing Surgical Robotics Through Strategic Collaboration
Being part of the co11ab ecosystem provides LifeSync Robotics with unparalleled access to a collaborative network with cutting-edge clinical and engineering infrastructure, as well as opportunities to accelerate commercialisation by engaging with clinicians, hospitals, and global MedTech partners. This marks a strategic leap in our journey as we prepare for market entry and scale our impact in surgical robotics.
Established by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and the National Healthcare Group (NHG), co11ab Novena bridges the gap between groundbreaking research and commercial success in biomedtech. Located at NTU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Novena campus, the incubator provides startups with access to clinical expertise, research laboratories, and engineering facilities—all within a thriving healthcare ecosystem that includes hospitals and national specialty centers.
For LifeSync Robotics, joining co11ab represents a strategic alignment with Singapore’s vision under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2025 (RIE2025) plan, which prioritizes human health and technological potential as key economic pillars. Dr. Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Health, emphasized during co11ab’s launch that the incubator’s design “fosters a thriving ecosystem for biomedtech startups,” a vision LifeSync Robotics now participates in through our focus on robot-assisted orthopedic surgeries.
Integratign into co11ab’s Innovation Ecosystem
Starting in March 2025, we have officially moved into co11ab facilities within the Clinical Sciences Building of LKC Medical School at 11 Mandalay Road. This move places us at the heart of Singapore’s MedTech innovation landscape, enabling closer collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and engineers.
Since relocating to co11ab’s co-working space earlier this month, LifeSync Robotics has begun installing our Asclepius™ demonstration unit in the incubator’s Engineering Makerspace, a 10,000 sq. ft. facility designed to foster innovation and rapid prototyping. This dedicated space will allow us to refine, test, and showcase our robotic technology to stakeholders and potential adopters.
The Asclepius™ System: Engineering the Future of Surgery
At the heart of LifeSync’s innovation is the Asclepius™ Robotic System, a modular platform designed for spine, hip, knee, and trauma surgeries. Key features include:
-
AI-Powered Preoperative Planning: Machine learning algorithms analyse patient imaging data to generate 3D surgical models, enabling surgeons to simulate procedures and optimise instrument trajectories.
-
Force Feedback and Sub-millimeter Precision: Integrated sensors provide haptic feedback during bone resections or implant placements, while our proprietary control algorithms ensure robotic accuracy within 1.5mm.
-
Interoperability: Compatibility with MRI, CT, and fluoroscopy systems minimises hospitals’ capital expenditure, allowing seamless integration into existing workflows.
By leveraging on co11ab’s ecosystem, we aim to finalise regulatory approvals for Asclepius™ in Singapore and Malaysia within 2025, followed by expansions into Thailand and Indonesia.
Looking Ahead
As we establish our presence at co11ab, LifeSync Robotics will participate in upcoming demo days and investor forums to showcase Asclepius™’s capabilities. We extend gratitude to our partners at NTU, A*STAR, and NHG for their mentorship, and we invite hospitals and clinicians to visit our us at the Makerspace for live demonstrations.
If you’re in the MedTech space and want to learn more about our work, feel free to reach out—we’d love to connect!
“Joining co11ab Novena propels LifeSync Robotics into a dynamic community where clinical insight meets engineering excellence,” said Fong Lau, CEO and Co-founder of LifeSync Robotics. “This collaboration not only accelerates our technical milestones but also amplifies our impact on surgical outcomes for patients across ASEAN.”
